The meeting began at
1) Lylah asked everyone to please wear your nametags to the next couple of
meetings until everyone has had a chance to learn names. If you do not have
a nametag, please let her know and she will make you one.
2) Updates to the Tech Police Department Burglar Alarm Contact list were
discussed. The list is currently outdated in many areas and meetings are
being scheduled to discuss a system for keeping it current. In the
meanwhile, if you believe that information needs to be updated for your
department, e-mail updates to Maynard Hoover hooverm@vt.edu by the end of
this week and he will pass the information along so the list can be updated.
3) Next month's meeting is a training session on Emergency Action Plan
development, and will be held in the classroom on the lower floor of the
AISB from Noon-4pm on March 9th.
4) If you have any ideas for certifications or training programs that are
not offered here at Virginia Tech, e-mail them to Lylah or Dawn before the
March 9th meeting.
5) Zack Adams, Co-Director of Environmental Health and
Safety at
Tech presented Satellite Operations Centers Emergency Planning Guidelines,
and answered questions regarding
the emergency planning process at
Tech.
