Dawn Maxey shared updates on
the new ICTAS I building. This building will be the first academic/research building
on campus that will have the Hokie Passport swipe card readers for entry into
the building. Dawn recommend on future buildings to add the cost of these
systems on to the building design or a renovations contract, since these
systems are going to be eventually mandated. She also suggested planning for an
annual maintenance contract. Annual maintenance is not supplied by the Hokie
Passport office. It is supplied by an outside vendor, C-Board.
The final topic of the
meeting was the upcoming schedule. The final dates and topics for the end of
the year are now posted on the FMDG website. Lylah asked for suggestions on
next year’s meetings. If you have a topic you would like to present or have
presented or a facility you would like to tour, please notify Lylah or Dawn.
